I really liked who the culprit of this case was.It was actually the person they first suspected. It's never really that person so it was fun to see it once.

Adgfhgjhkf;!!?!! Why was it so funny when Takagi and Megure found out what kix meant and then just started screaming

But wouldn't Sonoko have noticed that the firework sounded from inside the BATHROOM and not from outside??

Lmao imagine if that bloodstain was from Sonoko or someone else accidentally stepping into the crime scene a little bit and the culprit confessed for no reason

WHY IS HEIJI DROWNING IN THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!!;;?:!"(&(!?!:!! IS HE OKAY????

ahhh, the firework inside the bathroom... you'd have to understand Japan's ANTI-GUN CULTURE. basically... tl;dr... private ownership of firearms in Japan is so damn hard, only the rich, powerful, or truly dedicated hobbyists own them. so Sonoko even knowing what a real gunshot feels/sounds like close to her body would be difficult at best.

sure, her daddy's rich and bla bla bla. that's why Sonoko knew what skeet shooting is and Ran (even though her daddy's a former cop and private dick) didn't. but, i'd doubt a 'girly girl' like Sonoko's been shooting before.

the paperwork, the rules, the bureaucracy, it's a nightmare of truly EPIC proportions. owning and operating a car in Japan is just a bit easier than a firearm... except in two ways. you can park your car where you want to or afford to in Japan. plus you can drive your car pretty much everywhere you need to.

storing your gun in Japan at home, nigh on impossible. i've read articles online that state 90% of firearm owners in Japan store their weapon at a 'shooting club' they belong to. because the club can afford the impossibly expensive safes and technologies required to prevent thieves from getting a gun.

in a private home the safe has to be specially certified by the Japanese government. then the INSTALLATION of the safe in your home has to ALSO be done by a certified contractor. AND the safe HAS to be hidden! ;) you can't just blatantly have a safe standing there in your house, or half ass hidden in a closet or cabinet or something. yep, the Japanese Government even thought, 'hell. the thieves will steal the SAFE ITSELF then open it up later on somehow.'

like i mentioned with the car? transporting a legal firearm is a crazy mixed-up mess too. like in part 1 the 'fire fighter' mentions their gun cases HAVE to look like standard luggage. long-guns like rifles, shotguns etc. have to be broken down into parts so the gun case looks like luggage. pistols etc. can't be moved fully assembled either.

you can NOT ride on public transport without checked luggage if you have a gun case. you have to drive your own car, get a taxi, or rent a car. if you're on a train, you have to declare your firearm case and have it properly stored in the luggage lockdown area. every time you change trains you have to check that gun case in with the luggage lockdown agent/employee. each check requires you and the agent to inspect the firearm, check the parts are all there, check the serial numbers, check your firearms permits, check the gun is properly registered, call in to the central database and check your ID and the firearm is yours and ... so on. in order to remove the firearm case to leave the train you have to go through that whole nightmare as well. planes are a little bit easier, you gotta check the luggage in and declare it a firearm case and all the checks are done. but once you hand over the case the lockdown agent is responsible for it, not you. you get to your destination and another agent hands you your guncase, all the checks are verified, and off you go.

most hobbyists that like firearms in Japan just use the rental guns at their 'gun club'. you pay a fee, buy the ammo at the club too, shoot there at the club as you wish, then return the firearm to the club to be cleaned, maintained, and stored. because regulations on buying, storing, owning etc. ammo or ammo components is crazy complex too!

Oh my God the amount of things you know astounds me. That's literally crazy! I had no idea

But, I feel like Sonoko would've been able to notice the 'firework' sounding from the bathroom, the opposite direction of the fireworks. Unless the whole discovering the body thing made her forget.. which could've easily happened..
(Although sometimes the non detective characters in this show are still able to remember small details of the crime, but eh..)

Shin got out of that one with his secret ID relatively intact. plus he got 'Bonus Boyfriend Points' for buying Ran a special cellphone. ;)

now, if Shin/Conan didn't bug the HELL outta that phone with Professor Agasa's help? i'd be damn surprised! :D heheheh! :D GPS locator with a remote on/off ping. wire-tap with recording and keystroke/text message capture. all the bells n whistles. :>

Ceiling-fan25 • 2 years ago

Yeah that'd be pretty damn impressive if he didn't have Agasa's help, but at the same I feel as if I wouldn't even be surprised. Sometimes Conan just knows so many things

Oh, so the skating rink is at "Tropical Land". Wait what, so Kogoro was right the first time!? It was the red haired lady!? lol my dog didn't like the whistling and started freaking out. 13:10 ...I, COnan, you! At least hide that you are talking into the bowtie! We can see it, you're barley hiding it, omg! AHTDXYTFUYFTERETRDKU! HE LITERALLY LOOKED OVER HIS SHOULDER TURNED AROUND WHILEST STILL TALKING INTO THE BOWTIE TO LOOK AT HER! HOW DOES NO ONE SEE THIS!? 17:04 MEGURE IS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE STANDING IN THE DOORWAY NEXT TO CONAN, LOOK TO YOUR LEFT DAMNIT! HE RAN RIGHT PAST HIM, FUCKING! HE'S RIGHT THERE HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE!? THEY ARE NOW LOOKING OUT THE DOOR TOWARD WHERE KOGORO IS AND ALSO CONAN, HOW DO THEY NOT SEE CONAN TALKNING INTO HIS BOWTIE!? I FUCKING CAN'T IT'S SO OBVIOUS IN THIS EPISODE! Don't make us feel bad for her, like it's sweet he loves her enough to wait for her, but I don't like that half the time they try to make us feel bad for the killers, cause they still killed a person. The 1st Detective Conan OVA is supposed to be watched after this episode but I can't find it. Oh, wait I think I found it, yeah I found it lol.

the evidence in this case was WEAK AF!
Somebody please tell me how can you find blood on the skates that have been walked in, skated in on the rink, then walked in again on different surfaces? not to mention that walkable surfaces around the rink have soft flooring as not to damage the blades, or make you slip.
Luminol? Does that react to NOTHING? How is there a molecule of blood on that skate blade?!

KIX? It's giving circumstantial~

The strongest factor for conviction is the culprit's own confession.

I honestly think it's more likely to find gunpowder on the skates, since amateur skaters don't tend to own or use skate coverings (and we clearly saw them bare during the crime). But I don't know how much gunpoder residue is expected to fall onto them from clothes vs get there from a shooting.
